Q:

Is there a natural remedy for multiple sclerosis?

A: multiple sclerosis is serious disorder because it is potentially debilitating as the affected individual’s immune system acts destructively against the protective sheath over the nerves. This affects the communication process between your brain and various body parts, as signals or transmissions are sent via the nerves. The condition can even lead ultimately to a progressive deterioration of the nerves, which is irreversible. The symptoms of the condition would vary greatly depending on the extent of the damage to the nerves and also depending on which nerves are affected. In very severe cases the extent of nerve damage can be so far reaching, so as to leave the person unable to walk or speak. The condition can be hard to diagnose...

Q:

Testing for multiple sclerosis and other pain issues

A: multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune condition that affects the nerves of the central nervous system, leading to destruction of myelin, which is the basic component of the outer layer of the nerves. This is further manifested with certain neural symptoms. The name refers to multiple scars in the neural tissue which might be visualized with different imaging methods. The symptoms might include: sensation changes such as paresthesia or hypoesthesia, muscle weakness, or muscle spasms. Pain might be located, too. Depending of which nerves are affected, problems with speech, visual problems, or urination and defecation disorders might be present. Mood changes and cognitive impairment might be...

Q:

Managing multiple Sclerosis (MS)

A: Hello - I''ll try and add my thoughts and observations to your excellent list of concerns where I think it might make a difference. The pain in your lower left abdomen (actually sounds like the upper left quadrant) is probably caused by muscular spasm. There are so many vagaries involved with MS this is probably best left to your neurologist to make suggestions on, since he can view the full patient. Regarding sleep: fairly recent studies found that there is no significant risk (of dependence of otherwise) in taking Ambien and related drugs (of the same family) on a daily basis for an indefinite period. I''d take it straight through the weekend and feel as good as possible as much as possible. About fatigue: this will doubtless be a variable, so the best thing for it is to learn to...

Q:

Do you know anyone with MS (multiple Sclerosis)?

A: i know two folks with MS. one started with recurrent urinary tract infections. she was diagnosed when she also later developed balance problems. the other has walking problems.. often the first symptom is a vision problem. MS is considered as a diagnosis when a person has at least two nervous system problems separated by time and space.. Thanks for the information everyone. It is very interesting to hear that UTIs are a sign of MS. Never heard that before.. My mother was diagnosed with MS in early 2005. She started to know that something was wrong in late 2004 when she kept tripping and falling over small (an inch or less) elevation changes in the sidewalk. The cuts and bruises she got from these falls seemed disproportionately large to the type of falls she had.....

Q:

multiple Sclerosis - My daughter is in her 2nd tri-mester. She is having an episode and her dr?

A: Solu-Medrol (methylprednisolone) has not been formally assigned to a pregnancy category by the FDA as there have been no studies done on human pregnancies. I would be careful with getting those Solu-Medrol treatments. During the early years of my episode (relapses) I was treated with 3 - 5 days of Solu-Medrol, i thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread until I found out that what is does to your bones in high does.. Last year I found out that I have Osteo-Necrosis of the Femur, which in general my Femur bone has died, I would need to get a rod in my bone. I had been to the dr.s and hospital several times with the symptoms of a MS relapse and pain in my leg and back, i was always treated with Solu-Medrol. I told the ER doctors...
