Q:

Am I having a heart attack or what?

A: Dear Reader, What a scary situation you`ve been through. And, you must be frustrated not to have an answer as to why you have had these troubling and puzzling episodes. The symptoms that you describe can have a number of different origins, including gas, acid indigestion, muscle strain, pleurisy (inflammation of the lining of the lungs) or pneumonia, and heart attacks. As you can tell from this short list of conditions, chest pain can signal problems that are mild or serious. It`s clearly important that you see a health care provider whom you trust. If you`ve only been seen by emergency room medical providers, it would be wise to go to your regular health care provider. Would your husband or another trusted family...

Q:

Is this a heart attack or.....?

A: in my professional opinion i would say no. generally chest pain even with pain that radiates to other places that gets worse upon inspiration isnt cadiac related. the theory of it being from lifting your little girl i would say is right on the money. just a few stressed muscles that act up every once and a while. a real heart attacks symptoms include crushing or heavy chest pain accompanied by shortness of breath, pale, cool and clammy skin. profuse sweating. you pry just use those muscles a little more then what they like. after awhile they will get used to it and you wont get sore anymore. If you are female, the arm pain does not apply to you when having a heart

Q:

heart attack, how to know

A: Hi Pamelap, Thanks for your question. This is a great question because we don''t always know when something like this, which sounds similar to a stomach flu, could actually be a heart attack. heart attack symptoms can be associated with nausea and vomiting as well as sweating. It is unclear from your question if your husband has other risk factors such as his age, high blood pressure, history of heart disease, history of diabetes. The fact that he was vomiting all night will leave him feeling dehydrated and weak. It is always best to seek out medical advice from your medical doctor when in doubt as soon as possible. If you feel the situation...

Q:

Likelihood of a heart attack due to chest pains

A: Current medical status: i been getting chest pains for about 6months to the left and middle of chest which the doctors have said are muscular pain, but more recently(4/5 wks)i been getting back pain, jaw ache and slight dizziness which is scaring me quite a bit. All of the symptoms you have mentioned are not measurable and it makes the diagnostic process more difficult. What you might do is an ECG at the very moment you felt the symptoms, especially the chest pain. The chest pain is usually described as stabbing and if it lasts longer than 30 minutes it is probably a heart attack. If no heart disorders are found afterwards, then the symptoms...
Q:

What should you do if a person is having a heart attack?

A: the defibrillator reference was silly, at best. defibrillators are for people in cardiac arrest not having a heart attack AKA myocardial infarction AKA "The Big Kahuna" the real answer: call 9-1-1 (or other emergency #) try to calm them give them a CHEWABLE aspirin if they are not allergic. lie them flat on their back loosen restrictive clothing First, call 911, give aspirin if available. If they are conscious and breathing, that''s all I''d do until help arrived. If they stopped breathing or had no pulse, I''d do CPR or give them rescue breaths. call 9-1-1 and while u r waiting on them.push o the heart.give cpr.if needed.get inline for more help @healthcentersonline.com First call 911! Then make them...

Q:

How do you know if you just had a heart attack?

A: if ur dead. when someone revives you and says "you just had a heartattack". Your wrist starts to twitch. But if you wait for a an answer from yahoo it may be to late to call 911. You wouldn''t be writing this right now! Pain in the chest shortness of breath often for people who have never had a heart attack they will deny it and claim to be having indigestion. Also characteristic is pain on the left side of the body trust me you would know. you left side goes numb, and i mean numb. then, imagine a sharp excruciating pain in your heart that last for several seconds to minutes. if you did just have one, call an ambulance, but i doubt you would be guessing if...
