Q:

  high rdw, colon cancer?

A: Hi,Increased rdw is a sign of increased red cell production which could be due to minute blood loss. But itcannot be concluded as colon cancer. However in view of your digestive symptoms, it is better if you couldconsult a gastroenterologist for further details. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards....

Q:

high rdw

A: Leukemia comes from the greek term meaning "white blood", so I pretty sure you can rule that out but in the case of a mixed iron and B12 deficiency, the rdw will usually be elevated. An elevated rdw, where red blood cells are found to be unequal in sizes, is known as anisocytosis. I suggest a regimen of iron and B12 vitamins to supplement your diet....
Q:

I Have Low Wbc, Low Neutrophils And high Lymph And high rdw, What..

A: You have not given complete information because there is difference between low levels and abnormally low levels and also high levels and abnormally high levels. It is not necessary that a low level or high levels of any blood cell cause problem. Only abnormal values can cause problems. Neutrophils and Lymphocytes are types of whit blood cells. Abnormal low levels of WBC can cause  increased risk of infection. Abnormal low levels of neutrophils can be due to (<1500) leukemia, infection of bone marrow, radiotherapy and medicines. Abnormally high levels of lymphocytes (>40%) can be due to flu, chicken pox and some viral and bacterial infection. Some types of leukemia also increase...

Q:

high Lymphocyte and high lymph abosolute with a high rdw

A: Hello,Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is a condition of dysautonomia and is usually associated withfibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. What worries me is the presence of lump in the chest bone andneck.Corelating with the lab investigations, these can be swollen lymph nodes.Lymphadenopathy (swollen lymph nodes) is usually caused by a viral or bacterial infection. Other causesinclude allergic reactions, arthritis, cancer, metabolic diseases, and an overactive thyroid(hyperthyroidism). It also depends on the consistency of lymph nodes. Soft nodes are most likely infection orinflammation, firm but rubbery nodes could be lymphoma and rock hard nodes are more likely from some othertype of metastatic cancer not lymphoma. As the lymph, absolute lymph and lymphocytes are...
Q:

high red blood cell count, hair loss, high rdw -- cancer?

A: I noticed that this question had a lot of views and since I''ve written this, I''ve found out a lot. My Mom''s hair quite falling out. She started taking folic acid with vitamin B12. A lack of B12 or folic acid can cause anemia just like a lack of iron can. A red blood cell count can be high if the cells have low hemoglobin. Mom''s hair is growing back. It may never be as thick as it was when she was younger, but it still looks good. So this whole problem was a matter of finding a vitamin deficiency. I''m glad it was an easy fix and she''s healthy....

Q:

13yo low WBC & neutrophils, high rdw & monocytes

A: Hi, The high rdw helps in determining if there is only a B12 and/or folic acid deficiency (with normal rdw showing the red cells are mostly the same size) or with concomitant iron deficiency (a high rdw due to small and large red blood cells). The normal reference range for an absolute monocyte count is 40 - 950/µL. A value >950/µL is called as Monocytosis. Monocytosis is seen in some of the following disorders, - recovery phase of many acute infections, - chronic infectious disorders (tuberculosis), - chronic inflammatory bowel disease, - rheumatic diseases (lupus, rheumatoid arthritis), - malignant processes (Hodgkin''s and non-Hodgkin''s lymphoma), -...

Q:

What does a high rheumatoid factor and high rdw-CV and high PLT mean?

A: A high rheumatoid factor (RF) refers to a higher than normal concentration of rheumatoid factoring the blood. high quantities of this immunoglobulin are often found in people suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. high rheumatoid factor levels can also be found as a result of Sjogen`s syndrome or similar conditions also with TB and HIV. The rdw-CV% means, coefficient of variation of the red cell width. It measures the variability in the size of red blood cells, RBC in routine automated analysis of blood cells. Levels of rdw-CV% and hemoglobin Hb can predict iron deficiency anemia. A mildly elevated (PLT) platelet count is nothing to worry...

Q:

What Does high rdw-cv rdw-sd Mean?

A: Red blood cell distribution width -- a measure of anisocytosis (difference in red cell shape/size). rdw-SD is independent of MCV....
