Q:

What are the Possible hiv test results?

A: hiv testing is over 99% accurate, but the results can still be confusing. While a positive or negative result is self-explanatory, some people receive an indeterminate result. To better understand hiv test results, it is helpful to understand some of the basics of hiv testing. When someone becomes infected with the hiv virus, the body produces antibodies to fight the virus. The antibodies that humans produce are not potent enough to fight off the virus, but they are present in the system of anyone infected with hiv. The antibodies can be found...
Q:

hiv test results......?

A: i dont know... should you be worried?? if you participate in high-risk activities, possibly be worried. good luck though! Don''t worry about the test results. Even if the test results are negative, you have to do it again in every 3 months. Also don''t afraid of any disease. It may come and go. Face the future with courage. First off, I think taking an "hiv" test is stupid. Second, it is not an "hiv" test. It is an hiv antibody test. Third, there are about 70 different conditions that could cause a false positive, including...

Q:

Nervous about hiv test results?

A: I think you are just paranoid, this is common on ppl who have gone thru a traumatic event to have some kind of fear for their life . how many times have you been tested? how long ago did the rape happen? are you seeing a therapist? if you are not you should and either way let the therapist know about your fear. before you barrie yourself get the results first.... one thing at a time please If its any consolation I''ll say a prayer for you. In any case you''ll be going through it for a reason. Use it to help others, and in turn you''ll be more at peace with the outcome. dont worry about it, use condoms with each partner you have, get tested- both of you, and make sure after that that you use condoms with everyone...

Q:

Question about hiv test Result?

A: You know you could go on this website: http://www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=6 They will help out there as well... :)... If you are worried about it, your best bet would be to see a doctor, and continue testing every month or so. If you are positive chances are that it''ll show up in a test within 6 months to a year. You need to go to an "Infectious Disease MD"...a specialist, this will give you peace of mind! He can also run more specific tests for hiv. PS Stop unprotected sex also! :O( I think your question should be, what am I doing to myself that means I''m needing so many hiv tests? If you''ve had so many

Q:

hiv testing / results

A: Hi Thanks for the follow up, and apologies if the answer is confusing. hiv testing centres consider 12 weeks/3 months to be the ideal time to test for hiv, because the antibodies the test looks for have usually appeared by this time. So, your negative test at 3 months is very good news. However, some testing centres recommend another test at 5 or 6 months - which is clearly what is happening in your situation - because in very rare cases the antibodies take a bit longer to show. Your third test is therefore probably a sensible idea, just to make sure. I...

Q:

AIDS/hiv/ test results

A: Dear Omar: Peace on you and yours.  What I think is that your hiv testing results are consistent evidence that you are not infected with hiv. Most of the testing today is accurate at six weeks; the repeated negative testing suggests strongly that there is no hiv infection. Peace. Terry...

Q:

Waiting on hiv testing results

A: Dear Amanda: Peace.  It depends on the type of test your doctor ordered.  You should have been given information on the test, what the results mean, and your best options positive or negative.  Go to www.avert.org and/or www.thebody.com and read about testing and results.  If you always practice "safe" sex you are abstaining; the best any of us do is reduce risk, and the correct use of latex barrier protection with any and all contact with the blood, semen, and vaginal secretions keeps you about as safe as possible (reducing risk).  www.thebody.com should be helpful with ways to continue to improve your risk reduction. Best to you and...

Q:

Is the medicines after exposure of 6 months affect the hiv test results?

A: Response from Dr. McGowan Dear Srinu, Medication will not cause your hiv test to be falsely negative. Since you have tested more than 9 months after your possible exposure (you do not even know if she had hiv) there is no need to have further testing. You have not contracted hiv from that contact. The body aches are not specific. THey could mean many things. You should find a good GP and have them check you out and do a full physical. Congrtulations on quitting smoking...that is a very important step to staying helathy. Best,Joe...

Q:

I''m getting my hiv test results tomorrow and im ..

A: I understand that you''re scared, but you''re doing the right thing by getting tested. If you can, go with a close friend (or relative) that you can trust, for moral support. That''s really scared.. all i can say is to pray that you are negative for hiv.. If that is the extent of your UNSAFE SEX, the odds are very good that you are going to be fine (so long as he is not bisexual).  Of course there is risk even if he is heterosexual, but odds get much less.  The test is the only way to be sure, but don''t anticipate the worst; have a positive attitude. Unless you''ve found out HE has AIDS...stop worrying.  Just get the test for your peace of mind...and don''t ever forget how it...
