Q:
how to prevent hiv??
A: No SEX! 100% prevention. dont ever have sex with anyone with aids or hiv, always use a condom every single time you have sex, dont have gay sex, dont go to prostitutes, if u are completely protected there is a chance u may or may not spread this disease. you ae always taking chances. call a doctor if this is really a want and maybe they can prescribe some kind of antibiotics to keep u safer. avoid sex all together, if you must, use a condem, you risk is much greater than ever and if i were you, I would not risk my life.... you only have one. Like to play Russian Roulette do ya? %*#@ that man,...

Q:
If HIV virus cant survive in air, then why should we use a sterlised needle to prevent HIV Infection?
A: The surface of the needle can be contaminated with fluids, where the virus *can* survive. Cause it''ll keep you alive. Please see the webpages for more details on Sterilization (microbiology). HIV virus lives within a living cell. Contaminated needle may contain blood cells with HIV /AIDS virus, bacteria and spores. it may not die in the time the needle is passed from one person to another- especially if there is blood on the needle Because of blood that is (liquid) left on the needle when two people share it. HIV can be transmitted thru fluids.Good Luck! because you cant share needles that have been used before,,, cuz it would have blood on...

Get tested... you may have picked up the virus from a nasty health clinic, hospital (shots)....ext.. This is not rare either someone every close to me may have got the virus this way .... not sure yet. you already know what they are. Safe sex!! Don''t share syringes. Don''t have contact with body fluid/blood from someone who is positive. Common sense moron. Use a condom....and have safe sex....Do not use old needles or share needles...

Q:
Could Ban Lec (a chemical found in bananas) be more effective than drugs designed to prevent HIV infection?
A: Hello. First thing''s first... This is a study still under examination. The abstract and other details can be found here: http://www.jbc.org/content/285/12/8646.abstract Lectins are proteins that, much like our antibodies (which are also proteins), bind to chemical structures nearby. In this study, the lectins binded to sugar complexes on the viruses. This binding seems to render the virus inactive (just like antibodies do, except that HIV targets cells that work with antibodies to fight off infection, thus evading the immune response). We need to be aware of a couple of things. First, this study was done ''in vitro'', at a lab. It was not done ''in vivo'', on human subjects. So, yes, the lectin protein (the ''lec'' in Ban Lec) may work. It has the potential, but...

Q:
Is monogamy an effective way to prevent hiv?
A: If you are in a monogamous relationship with an uninfected partner, you can effectively prevent HIV infection by only maintaining sexual contact with that partner. however, sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV, can often go undetected in your body for long periods of time before producing symptoms. Therefore, periodic HIV testing can increase your surety that you are not at risk from your partner....

Q:
What are ways to prevent HIV& AIDS?
A: HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) and AIDS (acquired immune deficiency disease) are not the same thing, although HIV is the virus that causes AIDS. AIDS occurs when HIV significantly weakens the immune system. Once HIV enters the body, the immune system can''t ever get rid of it completely. HIV and AIDS have no cure, so learning about prevention can save your life.Stay HealthyIf you''ve tested negative for HIV/AIDS, be proactive in protecting your health, and never have unprotected sex if you don''t know the status of your partner. Unprotected sex is the most common...

Q:
Should the CDC recommend routine circumcision to prevent HIV/AIDS?
A: nooooooooooo Circumcision is covered by most insurance companies nowadays, however, there are always certain circumstances where the parents choose for their son to not be circumcised. Religious reasons, health, etc.. no, I do not think it should be necessary. My son was born at 27 weeks gestation, and around discharge time - they asked if we wanted him circumcised. We declined. My DH is not. And our son was still so little and teeny - he weighed less than an average newborn still, and I didn''t want that extra stress on him. I guess I''ll need to read up on why exactly a circumcised penis is less likely to contract HIV/AIDS... then one that isn''t... but it seems pretty ridiculous for it to be mandatory. Yes. It''s just a recommendation. Should

Q:
Does Altripla prevent HIV
A: Response from Dr. young Thanks for your post. While not formally approved for this, the drugs in Atripla (tenofovir, FTC and efavirenz) should be as effective (and maybe better tolerated) as other post-exposure regimens (PEP). The use of PEP lowers but doesn''t completely eliminate your risk of HIV transmission, but the actual risk depends on a lot of factors. I''d encourage you to search TheBody.com for other PEP information. Best of luck, BY...
