Q:
back pain - Really scared that my muscles won''t heal?
A: 11 days ago The main problem with this sort of injury is the back is involved in just about everything we do. I would not have you stretching right now as you may cause further injury. You are young and will no doubt heal, you have to take it easy and avoid further injury through more lifting. Some say heat, some say ice it, some say alternate between the two every 20 minutes. If your Dr, finds nothing wrong you have to take it easy and give it time. Drink a lot of water, it really helps the muscles but mostly stop freaking yourself out with thoughts of it never healing. It will, it just is no fun in the mean time. 4 days ago is recent, it could take 2-3 weeks depending on other factors. Be patient and think positive! Votes:+1CommentVote upReport DzooBaby11 days...

Q:
Does anyone know of any home remedies that help to relieve back pain?
A: Strengthening, Modalities and Exercises are your three best lines of defenses for taking care of your back pain. Using yoga postures to stretch your sciatic nerve, the large nerve fiber that begins in your lower back and runs through your buttocks and down the lower limbs, can help relieve tension and expand your range of motion. When an acute episode of lower back pain occurs, ice is the first line of defense to help reduce your pain. An episode could be a slip and fall, car accident, sudden twist, or picking up something heavy that immediately causes lower back

Q:
Does anyone have experience with Dr Sarno''s healing back pain methods?
A: I had a ruptured L5-S1 disc removed 25 years ago and it solved the problem. Many of the back problems come from bad posture or bad lifting technique. Correcting those structural issues may help your husbands problem. I have heard of people getting relief from accupuncture, but have no direct experience with it. First, thing I have to ask is how old is your mattress. A year back I started to have back pain. I figured since the mattress seemed fine it wasn''t the problem. I finally gave in and bought a new one and in a few short weeks my back was better. Second thing is he needs to do back strengthening exercises. Get one of those big balls you...

Q:
What are some ways to help manage lower back pain other than pills?
A: There are many ways. Most popular are exercise, massage and stretching. Strengthening your abs also helps... Total health and well being is linked to three things. Excercise, balanced low glycemic diet, and high quality nutritionals. I know this sounds crazy for back pain but think about it. Your back pain probablly comes from any number of sources, but the fact will always remain if you don''t do the proper thing to heal it it will always be there. I recommend first a good regement of high quality supplements to give yourself the building blocks, second try going for a 20-30 min walk 5x a week followed up with a healthy low glycemic diet!...

Q:
How best to work with a rheumatologist to resolve severe neck/upper back pain that''s lasted for over two months?
A: Sorry. Long answer. Hey there. I don''t claim to be a professional of any sort, but I did suffer from severe back and knee pain for many years. I went to several doctors, but it wasn''t until I saw a knee specialist that I discovered the root of all my pain issues -- Lack of flexibility in my hips and hamstrings -- As a child I played a lot of soccer and rode my bike everywhere, and in my adolescence I sat in front of a computer for most of my day, and I never stretched. I couldn''t even sit at a 90 degree angle with my legs out in front of me without slouching my back. I had all types of back and neck
