Q:

what is Betaine Hydrochloride?

A: Betaine hydrochloride is a substance that simulates the action of hydrochloric acid (HCl), an acid that is naturally produced in the stomach. This is the reason why betaine hydrochloride is also called betaine HCl. This substance is synthesized in laboratories. As a hydrochloric acid-containing supplement, its promise lies in its proposed ability to enhance digestion. In the digestive process, the stomach secretes gastric acid in response to food or hunger. The main component of gastric or stomach acid is hydrochloric acid, which lends an acidic potenz hydrogen (pH) to...

Q:

Betaine HCl vs. Digestive Enzymes

A: Well yes I do support the test however not many offices have the ability to perform the test, I would personally recommend conducting a complete elimination diet for a period of 12 weeks to assess stomach acidity production , that can be too much or less being produced.Always monitor how your stomach feels pst eating, the human  body is a great machine and will usually tell us when something isnt quite right, hence we often have cravings for garlic when we require an antibiotic. You can also take a  Betaine Hydrochloride supplement that is used as a challenge substance, when eating, to see if digestive function improves with its use. kaza...

Q:

what is Glycocyamine?

A: Glycocyamine is a compound that is naturally present in the human body. When it enters the liver, it gets converted to creatine, which may be used to build muscle tissue. Glycocyamine is often also referred to as guanidinoacetic acid or GAA, and it may be found in various muscle-building products that contain creatine. The compound is formed in the kidney from glycine and arginine. It is then transported to the liver, where it stimulates the production of creatine. Since glycocyamine may also be found in creatine products, it is usually consumed by bodybuilders and strength-training athletes to increase muscle mass...

Q:

Betaine HCL supplements

A: I apologize but I dont find any particular information on those numbers. It"s likely they indicate the amount of pepsiin in the product.   Therefore Product 1 has 1 part Pepsin in 3000 parts of the product and Product 2 has 1 part pepsin in 10,000 parts of the product, which (if my guess is correct about what the numbers mean) would indicate that Product 1 has 3 times the pepsin as product 2.  That could be why product two didn"t have an effect. This is general information and not intended to take the place of your trusted physician"s advice....

Q:

Betaine HCL

A: Hi Barrymore, No, do not take them both. You either are too acidic, or you"re not. Hydrochloric Acid (HCI), which is produced by glands in the stomach, is necessary for the breakdown and digestion of many foods. Insufficient amounts can lead to indigestion. To determine if you need more hydrochloric acid, take this simple test. Take a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice. If the indigestion goes away, you need more HCI. If it makes your symptoms worse, then you have too much acid, and you should take care not to take any supplements that contain HCI. Prilosec, Nexium, Zantac, etc. will cause harm in the long run, they mask symptoms and mess with your body"s ability to digest its foods. I...

Q:

what exactly is a superfood?

A: Some superfoods, and why they are so super!. Apples. According to ''SuperFoods Lifestyle'' author Dr. Steven Pratt, different varieties of apples have different phytonutrients, but they all have tons of antioxidants, including flavonoids and other polyphenols, and fiber.Avocados. Avocados have the same thing going for them that olive oil does: healthy monounsaturated fatty acids. These are the ''good fats,'' and they appear to lower LDL (bad) cholesterol levels, and raise HDL (good) cholesterol levels. Fiber, potassium, magnesium, folate and antioxidants up the ante. And Pratt cites research showing that avocado helps the body absorb more nutrients from other foods -- the tomato in the same salad, for instance.Beans. They haven''t gotten the same media buzz as...
