A: I would venture to say it is a bite from an insect. Since it does not bother your daughter don''t go wasting your money by rushing to the doctor right away. Yet keep an eye on it usually heal within a week. If still looks the same after a week then schedule an appt with general ped. doctor. If in between that week it gets worse and irritating to your daughter then see your practitioner sooner. Ifleft ignored or untreated, might lead to severe complications including septicemia and cellulitis.
