Q:
need to know what to expect after hysterectomy now in real menopause
A: I understand why you would be baffled. If they removed your entire uterus and cervix in your hysterectomy, there should be nothing to be creating the discharge. If even a small part of cervix and/or uterus were missed, that could be the source. The only other category that comes to mind is a vaginal infection. Some infections can cause a brownish discharge and often have an odor. Either way, I would recommend you see your provider to determine the cause and provide treatment if necessary.
Good luck,

Q:
what to expect after a whole historectomy?
A: With one ovary remaining, you are not likely to have the symptoms of menopause after your hysterectomy. Of course this depends on your age at the time of the surgery. If both ovaries were removed, you could take hormone replacement therapy to ward off the unpleasant symptoms....

Q:
what to expect after hysterectomy ?
A: I don''t know if you had a partial or complete but I can suggest my experience afterwards. I did have a little constipation and bloating at first. I didn''t have to be put on hormones until nine years later and I''m still on them.My husband would probably run away if I stop taking them. Talk to your doctor and tell him all the systems you''re having and I''m sure he''ll help. Good luck.judyplove...

Q:
what Can I expect after a Vaginal Hysterectomy?
A: A hysterectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the uterus. It may be needed to treat excessive bleeding, fibroids, chronic pain or certain gynecological cancers. The uterus can be removed either through an abdominal incision or through the vagina. A vaginal hysterectomy has many benefits over an abdominal procedure. after a vaginal hysterectomy there is often less bleeding, a shorter hospital stay and a quicker recovery. The procedure may be preformed with either general anesthesia or with only an epidural, which prevents the woman from feeling pain below her waist. The surgeon will make an incision inside the vagina in order

Q:
what can one expect after lap surgery for endometriosis?
A: --I was doing vigorous activity about 4 days later but I do not recommend that! Prohibitions on lifting heavy objects, sex, and a few other things are in the weeks. This is something to ask the surgeon. --I was in less pain afterwards, even without pain meds, than I was in before the surgery. My anesthesia wore off and I forgot to take the codeine. There was pain, but compared to the endometriosis it was not a big deal. I was taking RX meds at night for my pain, though. --My cycle went from irregular with 7 days of bleeding, severe pain, and diarrhea to 3 days and easily tolerable. If you''re on HBC and go off of it your period will probably...

Q:
Chemopause -- what to expect?
A: Hi Kristin, Kristin - it could be the hot flashes are mild because you are bald right now. I went into chemopause after the 2nd A/C treatment. I experienced what I consider mild hot flashes and was able to get through them by running a cold wash cloth over my bald head. Unfortunately after my hair came back I was not able to cool myself down again. I even tried ice packs on my wrists, etc. I resort to what I call a "spanish fan" which I keep in my purse for those inconvenient times. Everyone''s experience is different. Many people go through chemopause...

Q:
Just had a hysterectomy, leaving only one ovary. what can anyone tell me about recovery time, cycle, what to expect, etc
A: Well, I''m 3 weeks post-op myself. Part of it depends on where the cut was made. It is wonderful Marva said: 1 Dear McBean, thanks for the quick answer. Funny you should mention vacuuming and laundry. I''ve been at it since the day after I got home. The kids use the ''big vacuum''. One mistake I posted, though. I had a laporotomy, NOT the laporoscopy, so I have a six-inch incision. And my surgery came as somewhat of a surprise, after tests for ovarian cancer. It was quite a scare and has been an emotionally-wrenching month. Thanks for...

Q:
I am pretty sure that I have IBS, pain, running to the bathroom all day long, can never make plans to do anything becausae I''m always on the toilet in pain,it got worse after my hysterectomy in Sept. I have an appt. with a gastro Dr. what should I expect? Do I have to get a colonoscopy? My husband is freaking out about it, he did the same thing when I was pregnant,he''s weird about Dr.s messing around ''down there''. I need help now, I can''t go another day in the bathroom, I can''t have a life and it''s depressing me.Please help..
A: First, I'm sorry that you aren't feeling well. The first step would be to contact your doctor for an appointment. It's hard to know for sure what the doctor will order, but I'm sure that he or she will be able to give you some help. There are medications that are available for IBS, and from what I hear they can be quite effective. Second, regarding your husband. I would let him know how miserable that you are with this, and that you need to seek treatment. I'm sure that he will want you to be healthy and happy and wants only the best for you. Good...
