Q:
what to expect after a leep procedure
A: Hi Kimbi. You might need to call your doctor. It is possible you have an infection. Do you have a bad odor to the discharge? You need to be sure you aren''t just resting. You need to get up and walk, but don''t lift heavy items, move furniture, etc. There is a delicate balance between get plenty of rest, but get up and move a little. I hope you are feeling better! I do have discharge that is black and grainy. I called an on call doctor and he said that was normal. The smell isn''t horrrible. It just seems to hurt more if I get up and walk around, or just sit at the computer. Also the doc

Q:
what to expect after a leep
A: Hi Shawnda, that sounds pretty normal to me. I didn''t have a leep, but I had a CKC. The discharge from both are about the same. It is pretty typical to have a light bloody discharge for up to a week, then to have the brown/black chunky discharge. Some women have described it as looking like used coffee grounds. That discharge lasts for several days, then slowly goes away. Usually, after 2 weeks there is little to no discharge. The black discharge is from a mixture called Monsel''s solution. It has iodine in it. It is typically applied after procedures to the cervix...

Q:
what Should I Know About Pregnancy after a leep procedure?
A: A loop electrosurgical excision procedure (leep) is often used to treat cervical dysplasia. Less often, it is used as a treatment for the early stages of cervical cancer as well as for diagnosis of the disease. Though the technique can be helpful in these situations, women may have some concerns about pregnancy after a leep procedure. As part of the leep procedure, a loop is used in clearing the cervix of abnormal or precancerous cells. This loop has electric current. after the procedure, there may be effects that may make it a bit difficult to get pregnant or sustain a pregnancy. One of the risks of pregnancy

Q:
what to expect after leep
A: You shouldn''t be missing periods as a result of your leep unless you have stenosis (closing of your cervical opening due to scar tissue). Therefore, if missing periods is unusual for you, then you should contact your doctor and tell her what is up. Defintely contact your doctor, but if this was cervical stenosis, my understanding is that you would have some pain/cramping. I had my first period after my cone procedure, and my second was off by a few days. I don''t think there''s probably anything to worry about, but you should defintely get checked out to be sure....

Q:
leep procedure questions
A: Hi. I had this done earlier in the summer, and I had it done under a local anesthetic (they numbed my cervix...sounds horrific, but it really wasn''t at all!). I had cramping for probably 2 or 3 days, but nothing more unbearable than what you would have with a period. You will also have some strange-looking discharge maybe for 2 or 3 weeks, and your next period might be kind of crazy (mine was longer than usual). Other than that, it was not bad at all. I promise!! As for the no-sex thing, I would advise you to ask your doctor just to clarify how long you need to wait, but I DO strongly urge you to follow his or her instructions on that. It...

Q:
worried about leep procedure
A: Hi, I did the same thing before my leep and there is a lot of scary and confusing information out there. I hope I am able to help. First I want to ask have you had children yet and do you plan to? My doctor told me that he would not do the procedure (and I have/had severe dysplasia) unless I was sure I was done because it could effect my ability to conceive and/or carry a baby to term. I had the procedure done exactly a week ago. They did it in outpatient and I had no problems or complications with it. I think it was pretty safe, but that is also because I know that I am done having...

Q:
leep Procedure in 1 WEEK!!!!
A: my god you have had it tough! I had leep done 6 weeks ago now and found out I had CIN III!! Now the experience...where do I start! Ok I had leep done under local aneasthetic, meaning I was awake and I wont lie to you I was petrified!!! Anyway I had to lie back and they basically did exactly the same as a normal smear test and then they put some liquid onto my cervix which did sting alittle but only very slightly. At this point I didnt have any pain what so ever just felt abit uncomfortable. the liquid actually makes the pre/cancerous cells change colour and turn which so the doctor knows...

Q:
leep procedure question
A: Hi Shannon, It is different for everyone. I personally had minimal problems after mine. Had the procedure which was not bad at all. The only time I felt even slightly uncomfortable was when my heart rate went up, but it only lasted seconds. The overall procedure took about fifteen minutes maybe, it went by super fast. I went out for lunch with my family immediately after & was not in any pain. Maybe some crapping & discomfort here & there but overall nothing major. The worse part for me was having to wear panty liners for awhile for the discharge, which was less than pleasant. If your husband can take a day or two off it may not be a bad idea though, just in case. I have heard s

Q:
leep: what to expect with Sex after?
A: I didn''t have a leep, I had a cold knife cone (CKC) biopsy which is more invasive. I think we had to wait 4 weeks or so afterwards, too. Neither of us noticed any difference after the CKC. I was told to wait 6 weeks from my doctor. I did some research on this message board and a few others to see people''s experiences and as a result everyone''s situation was different! I didn''t wait the full 6 weeks.. I made it to about 5..and I should have waited longer. I bled slightly and it was a little painful during and when I orgasmed...I...
