Q:
First routine follow-up after trachelectomy
A: Glad it went so well! It sorta makes sense to not to an ECC, but I hope he brushed the heck out of you. Good thing about the HPV test, too. I love how doctors always warn that tests won''t be covered by insurance . . . I''m always thinking, "Did I mention insurance? No! Do the tests! Isn''t that why you had me sign that little waiver when I came in here?" P.S. Happy Birthday!! My birthday is also Monday. I got my celebration a little early, and I''m sure yours will be great news, too! :huge sigh: WHEW!!!! I am so glad you had a good appointment and that your doctor has given you the green light

Q:
Had my leep yesterday
A: Just wanted to say thank you for posting this. I am having the procudure done on the 21st of this month and am a little nervous. I''ve read so many different accounts. . .some woman say "no big deal" and some say it''s horrible. Your version is very helpful! thanks again for posting, Sole I think the different experiences are mainly due to the anastetic...I was under general so I was completely under. Mine was about 2 years ago. Here is my experience: I went to the surgery waiting room and they called me back. They gave me an IV of saline so that I was hydrated and then I waited as different nurses and the surgeon and the anestesiologist came back and asked me questions.

Q:
For those with a consistent history of anxiety and panic attacks: have you figured out what your attacks are linked to?
A: The general pattern of my anxiety episodes relates to things which happen in the here and now over which I have no control. I don''t worry about the future or fret over things I''ve done in the past. I worry about my wife and daughter a lot, for example, and I often call during the day just to make sure everybody''s all right. I''m not sure where that insecurity comes from, but at least I have and idea of where it doesn''t come from. Or so I think. The mind is a strange place. I worked through a thing 20 years ago, where I was worrying obsessively about my health. This came on after my father died of cancer. With the help of a shrink, I discovered that the anxiety wasn''t related to his...

Q:
Pregnant after hsg?
A: I am the one who asked the question. I just thought I would give everyone an update...the first month after the hsg my period was late so I went to the doctor to take a pregnancy test...at my doctor they have 3 days to call you with the results. I spotted for 3 days and then started my period and the next day the doctor called and said the test i took was positive...so I guess I had a chemical pregnancy. My husband and I where really upset but at least after a year of trying we know now that we can get pregnant..and that the only reason we didn''t before was because my...

Q:
Can bleeding after sex mean cervical cancer?
A: Hello, There are many reasons women bleed after sex. Hormone changes such as you describe can cause this. It can also indicate abnormal changes in the cervix and since you have had abnormal cells in the past, you really should have it checked again. It does not have to be with the same doctor as last time so I would recommend finding one in Germany. I would not expect cancer at this point, but if it is related to the abnormal cervical cells, the idea is to find it early - BEFORE it can become malignant. This type of cancer usually comes with enough warning we can take precautions and this is what I would suggest

Q:
Lazer surgery after bad colcoscopy
A: Hi. I had the laser surgery at the end of April and the scariest part was knowing I had to be put under. The pain after was nothing that Advil couldn''t handle. I took 1 day off work. The most annoying part was the antibiotic cream you have to use. Thats only for 3 days. The bleeding did last about 1 month but by about the end of the second week it was light. I had a lot of cin 3 and they told me it would not affect my fertility. I have to go for paps every 90 days for the next year but so far my results have been perfect. This as my first surgery and it was super easy. If you have any other questions let me know. Good Luck, Ariel ...

Q:
I have a leep surgery scheduled soon and just wanted some feedback from people who have had it done. Was it very painful afterwards? Any side effects? I am just nervous and would love to hear from people who have had it done!
A: Here is a link to user ratings on the leep Procedure I have had both the colposcopy and the leep done. I say the colposcopy was much more painful, because there wasn''t any anastesia. It''s an out patient procedure done in the Dr. office. The leep is done in an OR. My procedure was a cold knife leep, which is done with a scalpel instead of the electro coterizing tool. They removed about 40% of my cervex. I was put under for it. They told me that it would affect my ability to hold a pregnancy to full term, but I didn''t plan on having any more kids. I already have two....

Q:
leep Scheduled & Scared
A: Hi Kim! I had no bleeding at all with my leep, just that yucky dicharge they tell you about. It lasted about 3 and 1/2 weeks. I was only using panty liners. I had some pain the first day (nothing to bad) and then just slight cramping for another two days, less than with my period. It is probably a good idea to not lift anything heavy for at least a week, you wouldn''t want to cause bleeding. I wouldn''t think you would need to change your date. It will probably be wonderful to have something to get your mind off it afterwards. Good Luck....Keep us posted...and have a wonderful time in Europe!!...

Q:
what should I expect with leep?
A: Huuuum....I''m wondering why they made you go through all those biopsies? Oh well, the leep is uncomfortable but it''s like having a papsmear done for about 20 minutes and add a little biopsy to it...ha! It will feel a little bit uncomfortable like a papsmear does. They go in and scrape off the affected tissue from your cervix. It''s not pleasant but it''s not horrible either. I didn''t have anything except for a local deadening but some doctors will use anesthesia but unless you are really squeemish, I wouldn''t do that. It will just make you sick after it wears off if you use anesthesia. I expected to be really sore
