Q:

Pancreatic head mass, MRI VS. Ultrasound?

A: Hi there -- This is a much more complex question than it might have been, had the MRI been done first. I''ll explain: generally MRI is performed first and if there is any abnormality seen, endoscopic US is recommended for followup, because it will clarify what may or may not have been seen on MRI, with very high specificity, accuracy and sensitivity. So is MRI in many parts of the anatomy, but apparently not as much so for the sort of tissues involved in the specific...

Q:

xr stomach air w/sm bol

A: First of all this question should have been directed to a DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGisT which I am not. So it is really outside my area of expertise here. Even more so since it may have nothing to do with cancer, but that is still unclear. But since any dr. should be able to read x-ray reports I will answer anyway.  This x-ray study has probably been done with so called "double contrast" = both a drinkable contrast medium probably based on barium AND air. the drinkable medium absorbs more x-rays than normal tissues while air absorbs less. Only enough of the drinkable...

Hypoechoic pancreatic mass

Any treatment yet? Any gastroscopy planned? If your MRI is negative it is PROBABLE that there is no tumor there. However in order to be sure I do suggest an ultrasound guided needle biopsy of your lesion. Good luck!...
Q:

IBS with Nausea, Lack of Appetite

A: Your symptoms sound a lot like mine. Even in people without IBS constipation can cause nausea, loss of appetite, and even vomiting in severe cases. Even if you''ve only gone a couple days without having a BM, you''re facing at least a mild case of constipation. If I am not careful that''s what happens to me--a few days of nothing, and then what I like to call "everybody out!" meaning going from hard stools to diarrhea withing an hour or so. Afterward I often feel weak and nauseous, and I either don''t feel like eating, or I am afraid to eat anything that might encourage my diarrhea. I have never vomited, but I''ve heard of vomiting in association with IBS. Think about it--your GI muscles have to do a LOT of work to empty your...
